The short answer
It depends on the pricing model and how many pages you need. The companies we checked publish builds from $499 (plus $39.99 a month hosting) to $4,999 one time, and monthly plans from $99 to $499 a month. One charges a $2,000 to $3,500 setup fee plus $150 to $300 a month. With us, you see a free sample first, there's no setup fee, and Starter is $99 a month.
What drives the price
- Pages per service. Brakes, diagnostics, tires and maintenance on one page costs less than a page for each.
- City pages. Pages for nearby towns add cost. They only help when each says something true about that area.
- Booking and shop software. Linking to your scheduler is simple. Online booking with deposits or payments costs more.
- Who writes it. Some providers write every word, others build from a questionnaire you fill in.
- Hosting and edits. Some include them in the monthly fee. Others charge hosting separately after the first year.
Published prices we read
These are prices each company showed on its own website when we read it on October 25, 2026. It's a small sample, not a market average, and the packages include very different amounts of work. Prices change, so check the source before you compare.
- RunCabin (runcabin.com): Starting at $499 to build, then $39.99 a month (or $479.88 a year) for hosting.
- Grippy Code (grippycode.com): $99 to $499 a month with $0 down and no contract, or $999 to $4,999 to buy once.
- Main Street (autorepairwebsitedesign.com) (autorepairwebsitedesign.com): $2,000 setup fee then $150 a month for one page, or $3,500 then $300 a month for a full site.

Costs that keep going after launch
- Domain name. Usually about $10 to $20 a year, paid to the domain company, in your name. On October 25, 2026, Porkbun listed a .com at $11.08 a year.
- Hosting and security. Some builders charge it separately every month. Others, like us, include it in the monthly price.
- Upkeep and edits. Someone has to keep the site working and change your hours, prices and photos. Ask whether that's included, capped or billed by the hour.
- Add-ons. Booking software, call tracking, review tools and chat widgets often carry their own monthly fees.
- Marketing and ads are separate. Google Ads, ongoing SEO campaigns and lead services are a different bill from the website, and no website price includes the ad spend itself.
What a site from us costs
We build a free sample site first, so you see the real thing before you spend anything. If you keep it, this is the whole price:
- Free sample site first. No card, no sales call.
- $0 setup fee.
- Starter is $99 a month once your site is live: hosting, upkeep, small edits by email, a Google Business Profile check and basic local search setup.
- Your first year: $0 + 12 × $99 = $1,188, plus your domain (about $10 to $20 a year, in your name).
- Month to month. Cancel any time, with no cancellation fee.
- If you cancel, your site goes down at the end of the month you paid for, your domain stays yours, and we archive your content so we can restore your site if you come back. We may use the archived build as a demo sample.
Starter doesn't include ads, ongoing SEO campaigns or booking software. Growth and Pro are coming soon and aren't for sale yet.
Questions to ask any web designer before you pay
- Whose name will the domain be registered in? It should be yours.
- How long is the contract, and is there a fee to leave early?
- What happens to the site, the domain and the content if I stop paying?
- What exactly does the monthly fee include, and what costs extra?
- Who writes the words and who supplies the photos?
- Will you only show facts I confirm, with no made-up reviews or badges?
